This project included the provision and installation of a Daikin ducted air conditioning system for the upper level and a Daikin high-wall split system in the downstairs living room.

Thorough Installation of the Daikin FDYAN160AV1 16.0kW Ducted Air Conditioning System

Precision Electrical & Air meticulously managed the installation of the Daikin FDYAN160AV1 16.0kW ducted air conditioning system. The indoor unit was cleverly situated within the ceiling space above the void, while the condenser was securely positioned on the front balcony wall using rubber feet to minimise vibrations. The connection between the indoor and outdoor units was effectively encased in ducting as it exited the ceiling space.

To ensure adequate drainage, two drainage systems were established from the indoor unit and its safety tray to the external gutter. Comprehensive ductwork, branch take-offs, zone motors, and air plenums were carefully installed throughout the ceiling space, creating a seamless connection to the indoor unit. A return air grille was strategically located in the upstairs hallway to promote optimal air circulation and system efficiency.

A dedicated electrical sub-circuit was set up, running from the switchboard to the outdoor unit, complete with an NHP isolation switch positioned next to the condenser. A MyZone Multipoint touchpad zone controller was installed in the upstairs hallway, allowing for enhanced control over the air conditioning system and its designated zones.

In the downstairs living area, the installation of the Daikin FTXV80W 8.0kW high-wall reverse cycle split system was successfully completed. This installation included new ductwork, interconnect cables, and copper piping necessary to connect the indoor and outdoor units, with the condenser mounted on rubber feet to further mitigate vibrations.

A dedicated electrical circuit was established from the switchboard to the condenser, incorporating an NHP isolation switch for enhanced safety. To efficiently manage condensation, an Aspen Silent+ Mini condensation pump was installed beneath the indoor unit and linked to the nearest stormwater downpipe. The entire system underwent thorough commissioning to verify it operates at optimal performance levels.

This installation has provided the property with effective zoned ducted heating and cooling for the upper level, complemented by a dedicated high-wall split system for the downstairs living space.
